When a worksite doesn't have safe, solid access, it's a liability. Muddy ground, no defined walkway, and nowhere secure to step - that's what we were dealing with here. The area around this industrial facility needed a real solution, not a patch job.
We started from scratch. The crew used a skid steer to clear and grade the area, cutting clean edges into the existing soil and prepping a solid base. From there, we set the wooden forms - laid out tight and square to make sure the finished slab would sit exactly where it needed to. Caution tape and barriers went up to keep the work zone controlled throughout.
Once the forms were locked in, we poured the concrete slab and steps together as one connected system. The steps lead directly up to the structure's existing staircase, creating a smooth, uninterrupted path for workers moving through the area. The slab surface was broom-finished for traction, and the edges were tooled clean all the way around.
That's the thing about industrial concrete work - the details matter just as much as the pour itself. Proper prep, solid forming, and clean finishing are what separate a slab that holds up from one that cracks and shifts in six months. We take all of it seriously, whether it's a small concrete sidewalk or a full approach slab on a busy worksite.
This is the kind of work we do every day. Concrete slabs, steps, walkways - built right, built to last, and built with the people using them in mind.
